History Made (part 1). Dior SS13

It was a moment in fashion history: Raf Simons' first collection for Dior.

Did he reinvent the wheel? I didn't really feel like he did, but then my expectations were definitely too high. The collection was beautiful, starting out with classic trouser suits and jacket dresses that seems to epitomise stylish femininity. Those neck scarves were the highlight of the show for me.

Then came the experimentations with cut and colour - some of which worked and some of which didn't, depending on your taste. Finally, Raf revisited the silhouette he explored with his first couture collection. Those skirts should be able to melt even the coldest of fashion hearts. One thing is for sure: Raf and Dior were meant to be together.
